- Byron Burton is the Chief Critic and Awards Editor at Awards Focus, which he co-founded with Oscar and BAFTA winning filmmaker John Ottman. Byron has the distinction of being a National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award winner for his four years writing at The Hollywood Reporter. Byron has moderated Emmy and Oscar FYC panel conversations for every major studio including Disney, Paramount, Universal, Netflix, Searchlight, Focus Features, A24, Amazon Studios, Epix, Hulu, FX, HBO, Warner Brothers, and Sony Pictures Classics. Byron is a proud voting member of The Critics Choice Association, The Television Academy, and The Society of Composers & Lyricists. Byron wrote the Polish language song “Rest Young Child” for Michael Fassbender’s character in Marvel’s X-Men Apocalypse.
