- Born and raised in New York to immigrant parents from India, Jeremy Mathai (he/him) is a freelance journalist, film/TV critic, and pop culture enthusiast with a passion for genre filmmaking. A reformed STEM grad, he's since found his second calling in the arts and has developed his niche championing hidden gems from a diverse range of voices. Jeremy's writing can be found primarily on Slashfilm since becoming a regular staff writer and critic in 2021, although he also has bylines at outlets such as IGN, Nerdist, Polygon, Inverse, and the official Star Trek website. When he isn't endlessly preaching the good news of M. Night Shyamalan cinema (yes, including "Glass"), he can usually be found reciting "Seinfeld" episodes line-by-line, obsessing over baseball and hockey, or doing a passable impression of Tom Hardy's Bane voice.
