- Originally from the UK, Simon Thompson is a Los Angeles-based journalist, critic, and producer with over 20 years experience across radio, TV, and online. A Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer-approved critic since 2009, he regularly covers film and TV for a plethora of prestigious outlets, including Variety, IndieWire, Forbes, and The Playlist. Simon has previously done the same for Reuters, E!, BBC, IGN, and many others. He regularly moderates panels and Q&As for studios as well as organizations such as BAFTA, of which he is a voting member. He continues to appear on a range of international news networks, including BBC and Sky News, to discuss film and commentate on major industry news and events, including awards season. As a professional journalist and critic, Simon’s opinions have been featured in hundreds of campaigns for films, both indies and major studio movies, including multibillion-dollar franchises. He has a solid and engaged following on social media, including with many senior figures in the film and TV industries, both above and below the line.
