- Peter Canavese has been writing film reviews since 1987. In addition to the Critics Choice Association, he is a voting member of the San Francisco Bay Area Film Critics Circle, the Online Film Critics Society, and GALECA (The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics), and he is a Tomatometer-approved critic at Rotten Tomatoes. Canavese authors the website GrouchoReviews.com and is the chief film critic for the Palo Alto Weekly, the Mountain View Voice, and Celluloid Dreams – The Movie Show, a weekly radio show devoted to film (KSJS 90.5 FM & Radio Sausalito 1610 AM). His reviews have also appeared in the San Jose Mercury News (1991-1994), in Bay Area weekly Alternate101 (2007-2008), in Bay Area monthly ON Magazine (1995-2010), and on Portland's 1190 KEX drive-time show Mark & Dave (2008). His interviews have been published in the collections Conversations with James Ellroy (2012) and J.J. Abrams: Interviews (2018), among others.
