- A veteran journalist with more than two decades of experience, Rick has been the primary film and television critic and contributing editor for entertainment at Digital Trends since 2011. He previously served as an editor for MTV News, as well as a columnist and reviewer for Time Inc., Movies.com, Fandango, and IFC.com, and is a Rotten Tomatoes-approved critic. His past work can also be found at Mental Floss, Space.com, Wizard Magazine, and various other print and online outlets. Dubbed a "Professional Geek" by Spike TV, Rick has appeared on MTV, ABC, CBS, Spike TV, Fox Business, and NPR to offer film and TV commentary and reviews. He served as co-producer and host of WAMC Northeast Public Radio's "RetConned" podcast from 2016-2018, interviewing a wide spectrum of entertainment personalities and creators. A native of New York's Capital Region, Rick was named the New York Press Association's Writer of the Year while covering news around New York's capital city and surrounding region. He's a proud father of two amazing children, husband to an endlessly patient partner who tolerates his love for "The Transformers: The Movie," and a big fan of good beer.
