- Biography:
- Sam started his TV career in 1986 as a videotape editor, then assumed the title of special-projects producer at CBS in Tampa, covering large-scope specials and high-profile sweeps-series. He then began covering films in 1994 for WTVT/FOX in Tampa, where he worked full-time on entertainment news until 1998. He then spent three years creating The CineVentures Network, which was the first company to create custom movie news shows to run inside of theater chains, including Loews Cineplex, Regal Cinemas, Star Theaters and Magic Johnson Theaters. He then worked full time for WFLA-TV (NBC) covering films for their syndicated Daytime show for 16 years between 2001 and 2017, as well as creating and producing a second syndicated entertainment news show for them called The Spot. During this period he also did weekly movie-news segments for Mix 100.7 FM's Mike and Nancy Show. Sam then spent his remaining eight years at WFLA hosting the weekly syndicated movie-news half-hour show for Media General Inc. called StarWatch before switching to weekly movie news segments for Tampa's WTSP (ABC) and Jacksonville's WJXT-TV (Ind). To this day he continues weekly movie-news segments for WJXT-TV and Sarasota's WWSB-TV (ABC).
